Restaurant Review Town Hall Burger and Beer Durham NC

It's time to try a new restaurant.  I was invited by my friend Cindy to Town Hall Burger and Beer in Durham.  Let's go....

After having a look at the menu I decided to get a classic cheeseburger.  Here is their description... "Certified Angus Beef patty, lettuce, tomato, onion & choice of cheese served on brioche."
I also tried out the fried pickles with jalapeño ranch.
The burger was delicious.  I loved it.
Fried pickles were really good too.  The jalapeño ranch was a bit too spicy for me.  
I would probably go with plain ranch next time.  
Being a wine girl I know very little about beer.  Town Hall seems to have a nice selection of beer.  Here is their list...Beer List...


They serve wine and Bottled Boylans Sodas too.

I loved my burger.  Looking at his picture makes me want to go back today:-)
They have daily specials and weekly events.  Check those out here...Specials and Events
It would be fun to go on their trivia night that is held on Thursdays.  Along with the trivia you also get $3 pints and $4 glasses of wine.
They also have music bingo for the kids on Tuesdays.  Not sure what it is but I bet my grandson would like it:-)
I really enjoyed my visit to Town Hall Burger and Beer.  I plan on going back...
Get out and try a new restaurant.

      Hi Anna Marie, Yes it was a good burger. The location is casual. You order at the counter. They do have a bar so you can get some wine to go with your burger:-)

    I love Town Hall! The California burger is my favorite, although their veggie burgers (they have two options!) are some of the best I've had! And the sweet potato fries! Oh yum!

Interesting NC Tidbits...The Town of Buffalo NC is at the Bottom of Lake Lure.

A few weeks ago I took a trip to beautiful Lake Lure located in my state of NC.  Little did I know that there was a town called Buffalo under the Lake Lure waters.   I met a lady at a local restaurant that told me the town remains as it was, completely preserved under the water, an underwater ghost town.  On the Lake Lure pontoon boat adventure I took, I was told that Buffalo was burned to the ground just prior to the flooding. I went online to see what facts I could find about the town of Buffalo. Buffalo was a farming and mining community.  The population was approximately 150 people.  There was a church called Whiteside Valley Church of 1918 that had about 98 members.   The dam was built to generate electricity in the early 1900's, and just after the completion of the dam the town was flooded.    From what I could find online much of the town was torn down and relocated as were parts of the church.  The graves in the small graveyard were relocated as well.  You can r

Restaurant Review...Eddie's on Lake Norman, Mooresville NC

One thing I love about travel is trying new restaurants.  Cindy and I found ourselves on an adventure in the Mooresville NC area near Lake Norman.  There is nothing like enjoying a meal by the water and when we read that Eddie's was on the water we decided to give it a try.  Off we went... Eddie's on Lake Norman Here is a quote from their website. "Eddie Lubic and Ann-Margaret Wagner bring their hospitality and restaurant expertise  from New York to the shores of Lake Norman."  View from our outdoor seating... Sadly it did not get the best reviews on Z omato , but for the view and casual dinning I would go back. The staff was friendly and service was good. The Hickory Nut Gift and Antique Shop in Chimney Rock NC

While exploring Lake Lure and the surrounding area I discovered a unique and inviting gift shop.  The name of the shop is  The Hickory Nut .   I drove past this shop several times while exploring the area.  On my final day, I decided I would regret if I did not stop in for a visit. I was glad I did! As you can see from the photos there is something for everyone. From my overview of the shop I found seasonal decorations, plants, home decor, antiques,  crafts, and endless gift items.  The address of the shop is 215 Main St, Chimney Rock, NC 28720.  It is located on the main road between The town of Lake Lure and Chimney Rock Village.  The phone number I found for them if you want to check hours is 828-625-2211.
