Cindy and I were in Pittsboro NC last week.  Our intention was to visit the Folk Art event they were having at Fearrington Village, have lunch at the Granary and then stop off for a glass of wine at The Goat Deli, Coffee, and Wine Shop.

They have a Facebook page.where you can find specials and events.  I wish I lived a bit closer so I could take advantage of all they have to offer.

I love the photo of the goat.  It depicts the good life.  Wake up to a good cup of coffee and enjoy wine throughout the day:-)
They have pastries too...
"Each morning the pastry team at The Fearrington House Restaurant bakes fresh croissants, scones, muffins and other delicious treats that pair perfectly with coffee. In the afternoon, you’ll find we offer specialty desserts, such as lemon bars, tarts and pies, all seasonal and with a Fearrington twist."
I had a glass of the Chardonnay and it was lovely!

Restaurant Review Town Hall Burger and Beer, Durham NC

It's time to try a new restaurant.  I was invited by my friend Cindy to Town Hall Burger and Beer in Durham.  Let's go....

After having a look at the menu I decided to get a classic cheeseburger.  Here is their description... "Certified Angus Beef patty, lettuce, tomato, onion & choice of cheese served on brioche."
I also tried out the fried pickles with jalapeño ranch.
The burger was delicious.  I loved it.
Fried pickles were really good too.  The jalapeño ranch was a bit too spicy for me.
I would probably go with plain ranch next time.
Being a wine girl I know very little about beer.  Town Hall seems to have a nice selection of beer.  Here is their list...Beer List...

They serve wine and Bottled Boylans Sodas too.

The Bar.
Cindy and I plan to go back to check out the bar..
I loved my burger.  Looking at his picture makes me want to go back today:-)
They have daily specials and weekly events.  Check those out here...Specials and Events
It would be fun to go on their trivia night that is held on Thursdays.  Along with the trivia you also get $3 pints and $4 glasses of wine.
They also have music bingo for the kids on Tuesdays.  Not sure what it is but I bet my grandson would like it:-)
I really enjoyed my visit to Town Hall Burger and Beer.  I plan on going back...
Get out and try a new restaurant.

North Carolina Neighborhoods...Arlington Park at Amberly in Cary NC

Brodie and I decided to check out Arlington Park at Amberly in Cary NC.  Join us as we walk through the community.  I will search the internet for a bit of info on the community.
Arlington Park was one of the first phases in Amberly.  Single family detached homes built by KB Homes in 2007.  As a resident of Amberly you have the opportunity to take advantage of a beautiful clubhouse and pool just a couple of blocks away.
I liked the tree lined streets.
Nearby there is a Harris Teeter, actually there are 2 of them pretty close by.  They are building a Whole Foods near by and there is talk of a Publix. Even better news there is a rumor that a Wegman's is coming to this side of Cary.  I sure hope so, I love that place:-)
There are several shopping venues near by.
Parkside Town Commons featuring Franks Cinebowl and Grill.  Where you can bowl or watch a movie in style.  I love to go to the movies there.  You can order a meal and rest in the comfy recliners and sip your wine or beer or other beverage.  Great place.  There are also some fun restaurants and shops to visit.
Beaver Creek is just south in Apex and Southpoint Mall in Durham is not far away.
Current prices I found online were in the upper $200,000 to the low to upper $300,000.
You know me if I see a pretty flower I have to take a shot...

 Trail to the greenway...
As you leave via the back entrance you can see the lovely fountain next door.
This neighborhood is in the Wake County School District
                                                          It's all about the detail...

We enjoyed our walk through this section of Arlington Park.  If you are interested in moving to this area you can contact my daughter Erica.  She is a great agent and can help you with any price point and location you are interested in. Erica's Page

I joined a local hiking Meetupgroup.  I went on my first hike yesterday.  We started at Schenck Forest and from there ended up on the Loblolly Trail.

Hiking Trail
Surface: Natural surface
As I was reading the rules on the sign I saw a word I was not familiar with.  Geocaching???
Lets Google it.  Here is what Wikipedia had to say...

"Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called "geocaches" or "caches", at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the world."

I did not have a bike a horse a dog or a gun and I had no plan to geocaching so I was good to go:-)
Below are some photos of my adventure.  Sorry to say I don't know which trail was which but it was a wonderful hike and we were somewhere:-)
The hike begins...
A few of my hiking buddies...
This reminds me of the woods I used to explore as a child.
We jogged up this hill on the way back.  It was a bit steeper then it looks in the photo...

Interesting sights along the way.

All in all a lovely hike.  And yes, I am sore and tired but can't wait until my next hike.

Restaurant Review...Eddie's on Lake Norman, Mooresville NC

One thing I love about travel is trying new restaurants.  Cindy and I found ourselves on an adventure in the Mooresville NC area near Lake Norman.  There is nothing like enjoying a meal by the water and when we read that Eddie's was on the water we decided to give it a try.  Off we went...

Here is a quote from their website.
"Eddie Lubic and Ann-Margaret Wagner bring their hospitality and restaurant expertise
from New York to the shores of Lake Norman."

 View from our outdoor seating...
Sadly it did not get the best reviews on Zomato, but for the view and casual dinning I would go back. The staff was friendly and service was good.

Plenty of room outdoors and in.
 Indoor seating
A bit of wine:-)

"Eddie and Ann-Margaret's mission is always to provide the freshest seafood, prime meats, produce, pasta, and bread every meal."  Eddie's

We enjoyed our veggie and cheese platter along with some adult beverages.  Yummy:-)

We had a lovely evening by the lake.
Thanks Eddie and Ann-Margaret:-)

I suggest you try a new restaurant.
If you are in the Lake Norman area of NC try Eddie's on the Lake for a nice casual meal.
