Cindy and I were in Pittsboro NC last week.  Our intention was to visit the Folk Art event they were having at Fearrington Village, have lunch at the Granary and then stop off for a glass of wine at The Goat Deli, Coffee, and Wine Shop . Here is a description from their website... "Offering our Fearrington blend coffee roasted on-site, fresh morning pastries, housemade gelato, artisan soups, salads, sandwiches and signatures, and over 150 selections of wine stocked by our sommeliers — The Goat is the perfect way to start your morning, enjoy your lunch and relax at the end of the day." They have a Facebook page. where you can find specials and events.  I wish I lived a bit closer so I could take advantage of all they have to offer. Enjoy my photos and some quotes about their shop from their website, they will be in parentheses. Restaurant Review Town Hall Burger and Beer, Durham NC

Image
It's time to try a new restaurant.  I was invited by my friend Cindy to  Town Hall Burger and Beer  in Durham.  Let's go.... After having a look at the menu I decided to get a classic cheeseburger.  Here is their description... " Certified Angus Beef patty, lettuce, tomato, onion & choice of cheese served on brioche." I also tried out the fried pickles  with jalapeño ranch. The burger was delicious.  I loved it. Fried pickles were really good too.  The jalapeño ranch was a bit too spicy for me.   I would probably go with plain ranch next time.   Being a wine girl I know very little about beer.  Town Hall seems to have a nice selection of beer.  Here is their list... Beer List ... They serve wine and Bottled Boylans Sodas too. The Bar. Cindy and I plan to go back to check out the bar.. Town Hall Burger and Beer Menu   I loved my burger.  Looking at his picture makes me want to go back today:-) They have daily specials and weekly

North Carolina Neighborhoods...Arlington Park at Amberly in Cary NC

Image
Brodie and I decided to check out Arlington Park at Amberly in Cary NC.  Join us as we walk through the community.  I will search the internet for a bit of info on the community. Arlington Park was one of the first phases in Amberly.  Single family detached homes built by KB Homes in 2007.  As a resident of Amberly you have the opportunity to take advantage of a beautiful clubhouse and pool just a couple of blocks away. I liked the tree lined streets.  Nearby there is a Harris Teeter, actually there are 2 of them pretty close by.  They are building a Whole Foods near by and there is talk of a Publix. Even better news there is a rumor that a Wegman's is coming to this side of Cary.  I sure hope so, I love that place:-) There are several shopping venues near by. Parkside Town Commons  featuring Franks Cinebowl and Grill.  Where you can bowl or watch a movie in style.  I love to go to the movies there.  You can order a meal and rest in the comfy recliners and sip your wine or

Restaurant Review...Eddie's on Lake Norman, Mooresville NC

Image
One thing I love about travel is trying new restaurants.  Cindy and I found ourselves on an adventure in the Mooresville NC area near Lake Norman.  There is nothing like enjoying a meal by the water and when we read that Eddie's was on the water we decided to give it a try.  Off we went... Eddie's on Lake Norman Here is a quote from their website. "Eddie Lubic and Ann-Margaret Wagner bring their hospitality and restaurant expertise  from New York to the shores of Lake Norman."  View from our outdoor seating... Sadly it did not get the best reviews on Z omato , but for the view and casual dinning I would go back. The staff was friendly and service was good. Plenty of room outdoors and in.  Indoor seating  A bit of wine:-)   "Eddie and Ann-Margaret's mission is always to provide the freshest seafood, prime meats, produce, pasta, and bread every meal."  Eddie's We enjoyed our veggie and cheese platter along with
