Travel-A Visit To Divine Llama and Vineyards in East Bend NC...With Llama Trekking!

Image
My Visit to Divine Llama and Vineyards in East Bend, NC.  This is a repost from 2020.   It was so much fun I wanted to post it again I have been talking about visiting   Divine Llama Vineyards  for years.  I knew there were llamas and wine, so it had to be a fun place for a new adventure.  The vineyard is located in East Bend, NC.  This was about a two-hour drive from where I live, so I decided it was close enough for a day trip.  The vineyard was started in 2007. It is Yadkin Valley had they have award-winning wines.  They are situated on 91 acres.     I enjoyed two glasses of Chardonel wine. I had to look up what this was, which I found on Wikipedia. "Chardonel is a late-ripening white wine hybrid grape which can produce a high-quality wine with varietal character. ... It is distinguished by its superior wine quality combined with high productivity and cold hardiness superior to its acclaimed parent Chardonnay." You co...

Travel North Carolina-Hiking to a Water Fall A Stroller Friendly Hike near Marion North Carolina. Tom's Creek Falls

Image
North Carolina has a lot to offer.  Two of my favorite places to visit are the mountains and the coast.  If I had to choose, it would always be the mountains.    I went with my daughter and her family to an area near Asheville, NC.  We stayed in a house just outside of Black Mountain. The day we were to return home, we decided we wanted to take a hike.  The big question was what hike we could take that is stroller friendly.  After all, we had two little ones under 2 and a very large double stroller.  As we searched online, we found a suggestion... Tom's Creek Falls in Marion, NC ...1250 Huskins Branch Rd, Marion, NC 28752. I had trouble finding a distance on this trail.  Nearly every site varied, but it is approximately a 0.8-mile round trip.  Luckily for us, it was a short, easy trail that was stroller friendly.  You can make it to the falls overlook by stroller.  If you want to get to the base of the falls, you can, but...

Wine Wednesday-Let's Visit a NC Winery-tunnel Creek Vineyards in Roxboro NC

Image
It's Wine Wednesday.  Let's visit a local winery.   Tunnel Creek Vineyards in Roxboro, NC. Here is a quote from their website... "Imagine a place where serenity meets exhilaration, modesty meets magnificence, and exclusivity meets affordability." It is about an hour and twenty-minute drive from where I live in West Cary.  I like to drive, especially in the country, so the trip was a joy. Let's head in for a tasting... The tasting room is lovely.  I like the wood and the long bar.  It is a beautiful venue for a wine tasting. The wine tasting cost $20.00.  The range in wine prices that I found online was $24.99-$48.99. Another quote from the site... "This gorgeous facility boasts an all-wood interior that looks and smells amazing.   One cannot help but feel this is the perfect setting to taste new wines."  Here is a list of their wines.  Quote from the site... "Want to stay inside as close to the wine as possible?  Our live music an...

Travel-Old Mill Farm Durham NC

Image
Join me for my Old Mill Farm Adventure in Durham, NC.  Yes, there are goats on the farm! Looking over the events on their website, I found they have both paid and free events, many with live music.  The day I was there,  Jason Bales  was the musical artist.  There was plenty of seating in which to sit back and enjoy the music. Other animals on the farm. They have both wine and beer for your drink options.  The day I was there, they had food trucks.
